Holy shit it's been a while since I've written in this thing. But, time to start again. Hehe.
So I've ventured into my 2nd year of college. Shoot, 10 years ago college seems like a lifetime away. Now everything is zooming by faster than ever. Taking O. Chem which is kicking my ass hard, Animal Biology, English 1B, and Asian American studies. Overall a pretty lax semester if lax equals a new hold being torn into you...
Sometimes... I wish that I chose Music as my major. Even though I'm wrapped up in subjects that are on the other end of the spectrum, I find myself still entrapped in music. I'm not a Music major, but I've been given the honor by Mr. Barrera and Mr. Oliver to tech Logan since last year's WGI season. I'm writing my own pieces here and there just for fun and my piano continues to be one of my main sources of entertainment. I've even delved into the mysteries of improvisation so that I can play anywhere and anytime if I so choose. People around me are doing drum corps or planning to audition for it and my heart and mind yearns to be able to announce that I'm a member of a renowned corps or WGI group. I hear stories from tour and such and it seems like THE experience that I will probably never be able to experience. I have gotten an invitation from Open Class Champion 2009 BDB (HOW COOL WOULD IT BE TO HAVE A RING AND MEDAL!? OR EVEN JUST TO PLAY WITH A CORPS!?), and invitations to join the gang at Freelancers (and how many people can even WISH to be able to participate with these groups?). Performing in front of the massive crowd at Dayton has only plagued my dreams so often... If only... I feel that my hands are going to waste. I know that I can do something amazing with them if my roadblock wasn't in the way. I know that I can wow someone. Hopefully, I can teach something to these kids to make up for it.
Field show this saturday! It'll be a big show come and support Logan if you can! =) It's surely appreciated. Location at DVC.
*Walking down a road that you cannot follow... I'm sorry... but... it's coming*
Going to Dayton... was awesome. I wish that I could've performed there just once but being able to teach and bring a group there to perform in National Championships was just... indescribable. Granted our opinions about scores and placing are extremely conflicting against the judges, just seeing the crowd react to the show was more than scores can say. Again, congratulations to everyone, you guys did great and let's do another amazing job next year. That was a bitching performance and you all deserve platinum in my eyes lol.
I love teaching. It's a different perspective from looking up playing, and looking down watching. It makes me regret sometimes that I chose not to pursue a life of music but hey, it's all good.
Credits go to Chiiiiio for showing me the site. xD
